Gunderloch

The banker Carl Gunderloch founded the winery in 1890. Riesling was the focus from the very beginning. The grape variety finds an ideal environment on 250-million-year-old red slate where climatic and geological conditions allow the creation of expressive wines. The heart of the estate is the Rothenberg vineyard in Nackenheim. The Hasselbach family’s cultivation efforts are dedicated to preserving vine and soil health for future generations. Full ripeness with perfect balance between the development of aroma and the preservation of acidity is the goal.
